Humania Assurance ranks 32nd among Quebec’s 300 largest SMEs

More than 150 years after its founding, the Saint‑Hyacinthe insurer continues to grow from coast to coast

SAINT‑HYACINTHE, QC, October 29, 2026. Humania Assurance is proud to announce that it ranks 32nd on the list of Quebec’s 300 largest SMEs, published by Les Affaires on October 21, 2026.

This annual ranking lists companies that are majority owned by Quebec interests, based on how many full‑time employees they have in Quebec. To qualify, a company must have no more than 300 full‑time employees in Quebec. With more than 250 full‑time employees, Humania ranks in the top third of the list. It is also one of the few life and health insurers on the list.

A homegrown company making its mark across Canada
Founded in Saint‑Hyacinthe more than 150 years ago, Humania Assurance offers individual, group and travel insurance products. These products are distributed through a large nationwide network of advisors and partners. Humania shows that a company based outside a major city can grow successfully across the country.

“This recognition belongs first and foremost to our employees. Every day, their commitment to our policyholders, advisors and partners allows us to grow while staying true to our values and our Saint‑Hyacinthe roots,” says Kim Rochette, Vice-President, Culture, Talent and Customer Experience.
